Poem of a poet

If life is dark then a poet must be a flame

Poets cast light on the darkest corners of life

Projecting lost voices, blending agony and hope

Joy and woe rolling upon each other, like the waves

Layered and hidden yet kissing the shores of illumination

Poets attempt to unfold the arcane twists of life

They set on a journey, wandering along the cliffs

Walking in the mists, bowing down to the sun and the moon

Moving heaven and earth to reach out to the stars

But poets do not seek light for themselves

They seek light for the fragile

They pray for their good

Poets are immune to darkness, they befriend the tempest

They do have fear

But their dangerous curiosity supersedes this fear

If life is dark then a poet must be a flame!

Best wishes
